2005: #63 – Godplayer (Robin Cook)

August 23, 2005January 15, 2021

Book #63 was Godplayer, by Robin Cook. I generally enjoy Robin Cook’s books, because it fits in with my obsession with medical-themed entertainment. But I was a little bit annoyed by this one. The main character was so willing to let everyone in her life treat her like crap. It just made me want to yell at her. But at least the book did keep

2005: #62 – Blood Test (Jonathan Kellerman)

August 15, 2005January 15, 2021

Book #62 was Blood Test, the 2nd book in Jonathan Kellerman’s Alex Delaware series. I haven’t read many of the early books of this series. It was interesting to see how sort of naive and un-scarred Alex Delaware is in these early books. Book count: 62 Pages in book: 320 Page count: 22,019 15,000 page goal reached 6/14/05! 50 book goal reached 7/19/05!

2005: #49 – I’ll Be Seeing You (Mary Higgins Clark)

July 19, 2005January 15, 2021

Turns out I forgot to blog a book last week! I must have forgotten about it in my Harry Potter euphoria. Book #49 (though technically, it was #48), was I’ll Be Seeing You, by Mary Higgins Clark. Another good one from Mary Higgins Clark. I like these cuz they’re quick reads. I also like it when I don’t quite have it figured out at the

2005: #39 – On the Street Where You Live (Mary Higgins Clark)

May 31, 2005January 14, 2021

Book #39 was Mary Higgins Clark’s On the Street Where You Live. Mary Higgins Clark is one of my favorite “summer reading” authors. I especially like her books when I can’t guess the who in the whodunit. No guessing in this one! It was actually pretty unexpected. Book count: 39/50 — 78% Pages in book: 320 Page count: 13,577/15,000 — 90.51%

I really liked the heart of this book. I loved April and her unapologetic geekiness, and I liked what Dade has to say about body positivity, and that she wrote a male protagonist that walks the talk. What I wasn’t expecting was just how detailed into the fanfiction subculture this was going to go. It’s one of the few times I’ve started a book and
