2008: Challenges – The Genre Challenge

genrechallenge This challenge doesn’t begin until November and lasts for a year, so really it’s more of a 2009 challenge.

Just go along with my justification, mmmm’kay?

In The Genre Challenge, the goal is to read one book in the following genres: crime fiction, detective fiction, mystery fiction, horror fiction, thriller fiction, romance fiction, science fiction, action/adventure fiction, fantasy fiction, realistic fiction, historical fiction, and western fiction. Specific definitions of these genres can be found in this post.  I’m choosing option C, which is to read all 12 genres in 12 months.

I’m not going to make a list ahead of time, just fill it in as I go! Also, looking at those definitions make me wonder if I should do some recategorizing of my reviews. Ah… another project for another day.

This is a really great idea! What a way to push yourself to read within genres you normally don’t look. I’ll look forward to hearing about your progress along the way.
