2005: #44 – Kiss Me While I Sleep (Linda Howard)

June 27, 2005January 14, 2021

Book #44 was Kiss Me While I Sleep, by Linda Howard. I picked this book up on a whim while I was waiting for my car to get its oil changed at Walmart. It was alright — better than the last Linda Howard book I read. The sex was more realistic, at any rate. I haven’t been reading quite so voraciously lately. I’m not sure

2005: #43 – Vengeance in Death (J.D. Robb)

June 14, 2005January 14, 2021

Book #43 was Vengeance in Death, the 6th book in J.D. Robb’s In Death series. Short and sweet, huh? I find that every time a book gets reprinted, the “back of the book” gets shorter. Anyway, I liked this one just as much as the others I’ve read. Big surprise! But, I managed to read this one entirely on our camping trip. Book count: 43/50

June 13, 2005January 14, 2021

Book #42 was Into Thin Air, by Jon Krakauer. This book was every bit as good as I was told it was, and I don’t even like mountain climbing. It’s just amazing what people will put themselves through for a couple of minutes on top of the tallest mountain on Earth. It’s also amazing how a bunch of trivial seeming things can snowball into such

2005: #41 – The Count and the Confession (John Taylor)

June 6, 2005January 14, 2021

Book #41 was The Count and the Confession, by John Taylor. I like the occasional true crime story, and if you saw how often I’m watching A&E, you would know how true this is. I found this one especially interesting, because it takes place in an area I’m familiar with. You can pretty much tell which way the book is slanted within the first few

I really liked the heart of this book. I loved April and her unapologetic geekiness, and I liked what Dade has to say about body positivity, and that she wrote a male protagonist that walks the talk. What I wasn’t expecting was just how detailed into the fanfiction subculture this was going to go. It’s one of the few times I’ve started a book and
