2008: The Sunday Salon – Sunday #6

Happy Sunday! Lots of business to talk about today…

First of all, I’m hosting a giveaway! If you are interested in winning my ARC of Christian von Ditfurth’s A Paragon of Virtue, the details are here! I’m accepting entries until midnight on Wednesday, September 10.

Second, it’s time to vote for the awards for Book Blogger Appreciation Week! Voting can be done on My Friend Amy’s site here. Go and vote for your favorite blogs!

Third, let’s talk about my reading for the last couple of weeks.  I’ve finished 4 books — The Face of a Stranger by Anne Perry, A Paragon of Virtue by Christian von Ditfurth, The Dead Room by Heather Graham, and New Moon by Stephanie Meyer. Currently I’m reading Considering SomplacElse by B.L. Lindstrom and I’m listening to Fat Tuesday by Sandra Brown.  So far, I’m liking Considering SomplacElse more than I expected to, and Fat Tuesday is not my favorite Sandra Brown. It’s not so disappointing that I won’t finish it (I’m almost halfway through), but it’s not what I’ve come to expect from her.

I’ve received a couple of ARCs in the past couples of weeks — Guernica by Dave Boling and College Girl by Patricia Weitz.  And, I’ve got a couple more on the way to me, as well as something from PaperbackSwap.

I’ve got about 2 weeks left in the Summer Reading Thing challenge. I can see that I’m going to need to change some of the books on my list, because I’ve been reading everything but those.

Happy reading, and I’ll see you next week! Don’t forget about the giveaway!

I’ve read one good review and one not so good review of Guernica. I’ll be looking forward to seeing what you think. Either way, it should be interesting.

Ugh – the Summer Reading Thing…I know I did bad. I haven’t paid much attention to my challenges for the past five months. I have got to!

Hello! I have Guernice in my TBR pile too, I have heard really good things about it. What did you think of The Face of a Stranger? I have read all of Anne Perry’s books but it’s been years since I read that one. I think it’s the first one in that series (?) and that I really liked it.
