2009: The Sunday Salon – The Falling Behind Edition

Where is the time going? I am currently further behind in my reviews than I have ever been. Four books awaiting reviewing! If I’m smart, I’ll stay right here and knock them all out this evening, but I doubt that will happen.  The books I’ve finished that I’ve yet to review are: Tell No One by Harlan Coben, The BFG by Roald Dahl, Sunny Chandler’s Return by Sandra Brown, and Tripwire by Lee Child.

I feel like it hasn’t been a particularly good reading month for me.  After I gave up on The Firemaster’s Mistress, I moved right into The Zookeeper’s Wife by Diane Ackerman, which has also been slow going.  I guess I wasn’t expecting it to be *so* non-fictiony. The Zabinski’s story sometimes gets lost in all the minutiae. This one I’ll finish, because it’s for my book club, but I’ve got to either finish it or put it down by Wednesday, otherwise I won’t get the other stuff I need to read by the end of the month read.  I need to review Mating Rituals of the North American WASP by Laura Lipton by May 27, and Reunion by Terese Fowler by May 30. Time to crack that whip!

I’m starting to feel a little overwhelmed by the TBR pile again.  I don’t really know what I’m going to do about it, though.

I have managed to get a few books reviewed since my last Sunday Salon post…

I also got some great news last week, that isn’t going to help my TBR pile at all… I got invited to join the Amazon Vine program! I requested my first four books from it, and have already received one — a book I have been dying to read — Dark Places by Gillian Flynn.  So that will probably be the next to be read after I finish off what I need to by the end of the month.

And now, it’s time to think productive thoughts.  Reviews! Must write reviews!
